Q & A

What was the first album you ever owned on vinyl?

Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs

What have you been listening to lately?

Tyler Keith- “The Last Drag”

Where is your favorite place in the world and why?

I really love Amsterdam because there’s not much auto traffic, and the access to good fresh groceries.

Also, any quiet place on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

What are some things you have to have on the road with you?

Cell phone, and notebooks. I keep these for writing and general research I may be involved in. I travel pretty light

Who or what influences your music?

Most of my influences are from literature. Now I’m really into Michael Farris Smith

What album do you play on repeat, and what do you love about it?

Charlie Parker – Complete Savoy Sessions

I love the tone of the production and engineering of the recording. It’s a perfect balance of instruments from among the greatest cutting edge jazz musicians of the early Bebop era. It’s the blues.
